It’s no secret that ever since the late 90s, the influence of Anime has only ever increased with each passing year, and now, in the year 2022, it is just as much a part of mainstream entertainment media as Hollywood.
Though aren’t you curious about which Anime are getting the most attention right now, this very year?
That’s right, in this post, we’ll be talking about the “Top 10 Hottest Anime on Google Search in 2022.”
I know some of you can guess pretty much all of them, but what matters here is the ranking order here. The Anime at Number 10 isn’t even half as popular as the Anime on number 7, same is the case with the ones that are even ahead.
Please note that this list isn’t opinionated at all. We considered the actual Search data before forming the list. Well then, let’s dive right into it and find out which are the Hottest Anime right now.
10. Hunter × Hunter (1.9% searches)
A dark yet mature tale of adventure and friendship.
Hunter x Hunter is always among the highest rated anime for a reason, its 2011 Adaptation is about as good a battle Shonen Anime adaptation can get. As an anime, it enjoys prestigious status and has a somewhat elitist fanbase.
Now I know, there are plenty of One Piece or Naruto fans who haven’t given Hunter x Hunter a shot, simply because they are at constant war with its fanbase. Well, those guys are genuinely missing out.
It may seem like a fun story about a 12-year-old setting out to become a hunter, but of course, if that was all it’s about, it wouldn’t have owned the rankings.
9. Dragon Ball (2.6% searches)
Ok, who didn’t see this coming?
It’s no secret that Dragon Ball has been the face of Anime for quite a few decades.
Even the local village’s grandma has heard the name “Goku.” It’s just that popular. You can’t run away from the fact that Goku is more popular than the majority of Celebrities out there.
Then there are also the Dragon Ball sequels which make it impossible for its hype to simmer down.
Talk about prominence.
3. Death Note (2.8% searches)
Death Note is a renowned psychological suspense that hooks you up from the very beginning and doesn’t let you breathe until a certain character’s death.
Although even then, it is a sigh of despair and not a sigh of relief.
Honestly, it’s incredible that Death Note is still dominating the google searches despite being just a standalone installment. There are no sequels, no long running narratives, nothing.
Which is a good thing though, I mean, if you want to introduce someone to Anime, it’s better to have them binge watch Death Note than something like One Piece or Naruto.
4. My Hero Academia (4.9% searches)
When the “My Hero Academia” anime adaptation first came out in 2016, it took everyone by surprise.
Finally, a series about Superheroes and stuff.
Well to be honest, One Punch Man had just come out just a year before, but it was My Hero Academia that fully embraced the idea of a Hero setting.
It’s certainly inspiring, but it feels as though with each passing year, the hype around it is gradually drifting.
Hopefully that’ll change since the best manga arc is yet to be adapted.
6. Attack On Titan (5.2% searches)
Ah yes, “Attack of Titan.”
Arguably the most controversial modern-day Anime. It’s also the most popular series on Anime databases such as “MyAnimeList.”
The manga ended last year and if you were on the internet during that time, you know just how much of a controversial topic it was.
Though, of course, the criticism varies from person to person, and it is hardly ever objective.

5. One Piece (7.2% searches)
As the old saying goes,
Two things are infinite: the universe and the number of One Piece episodes; and I’m not sure about the universe.
Ok, that was a poor joke. I am up to date with One Piece, guys. Don’t worry.
Still though, the fact that One Piece is over 1000 episodes long and still going strong is nothing short of incredible. Many Anime fans speculate that the ending of One Piece will be among the most excruciating moments of the fan’s life.
It won’t be long guys, the author, Eiichiro Oda has already told us that the manga is in its final stage.
Only a matter of a few years at this point.
Let’s see how this legendary fantasy Epic will meet its end.
4. Jujutsu Kaisen (7.3% searches)
Among all the Anime listed here, Jujutsu Kaisen is the most recent one.
It came out in 2020, and instantly made a strong impression. The animation is neat and crispy, the action sequences are stellar, and the story elements are no slouches either.
All in all, Jujutsu Kaisen deserves its status as the next big thing.
The manga is still ongoing, the recent movie was a major success, and the anime is scheduled to receive a sequel next year.
That’s right boys, the popularity phase of Jujutsu Kaisen has only just begun.
3. Demon Slayer (7.8% searches)
Demon Slayer is the anime that literally took over the internet.
The 19th Episode releases and boom. Everyone is talking about it, it’s everywhere.
Not just that, the Demon Slayer manga actually made history by becoming the highest selling manga of 2020. Now, it wasn’t just the top ranking, it’s about the number of copies that were sold.
Kingdom and One Piece which were second and third only sold somewhere around 8 million copies each, while Demon Slayer sold 82 million copies.
Plus, it was the first time in 12 years that One Piece was knocked from the top spot.
Truly, one stunning upset.
From there on out, the Demon Slayer movie also made sure to break records after records, and then the second season surprised everyone with its visually orgasmic animation.
The manga has already ended, but Demon Slayer’s popularity is contagious.
2. Pokémon (8.8% searches)
Pokemon is one behemoth of a series. It’s currently standing at 25 Anime Seasons, countless games, movies, and whatnot. It’s so popular that some people don’t even know that it’s a Japanese Anime.
We’re talking about a level that goes beyond being just a mere cultural phenomenon.
Pokemon is basically a global icon. This doesn’t need to be up for debate, pretty much everyone agrees on this. Which is why, I was genuinely surprised to see that Pokemon is not at number when it comes to the hottest anime on google search in 2022.
No, that title was stolen by Naruto.
1. Naruto (16.2% searches)
Now, even though half of the Naruto fanbase is against the Boruto sequel, or at least, they used to be. Boruto has definitely added to the popularity of Naruto.
It’s strange since normally you wouldn’t expect it to get more searches than One Piece, which is still ongoing, or Pokemon, which is always a thing.
Naruto ended back in 2017, following that, it experienced a sudden rush of popularity unlike anything it had seen before, but as is the case with any wave of hype, it slowly dies down.
However, it seems that as far as the average google user is concerned, Naruto is the hottest anime of 2022.
